In line with its Terms of Reference established by the World Health Organization, the Center is committed to conducting training and capacity-building activities in global health ethics, with a focus on the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Upon request by WHO, the Center also provides technical input to inform the development of key documents on emerging issues in global health and clinical ethics.
As part of the WHO Collaborating Centre network in Bioethics, the Center actively contributes to joint initiatives under WHO’s leadership, engaging in interdisciplinary work across the fields of ethics, health legislation, and human rights.
The Center’s scope of activities includes supporting WHO in implementing its programmes at the country level, offering technical advice, and designing and delivering educational and training programs for various stakeholders. This collaboration represents a significant step toward strengthening national and regional capacities in addressing ethical challenges in health and advancing justice and human rights in health systems.
